We offer botulinum toxin (BOTOX®) injections to treat excessive sweating.
Hyperhidrosis and excessive sweating
Hyperhidrosis

Sweating excessively at unpredictable times is a medical condition called hyperhidrosis. Hyperhydrosis is linked to overactive sweat glands, possibly via nerve signaling problems. Certain patients may have a genetic predisposition.

The excessive sweating may occur in one or more areas of the body (armpits, head, palms, feet). Sweating occurs throughout the day, after waking up and in more severe cases, during sleeping.

Treatment for Hyperhidrosis

Our office offers botulinum injections (BOTOX®) to treat severe sweating on the face, under the arms (axillary hyperhidrosis), and on the hands (palmar hyperhidrosis). BOTOX® works by temporarily blocking a chemical in the body that stimulates the sweat glands. Patients usually see results in 2–3 days with results typically lasting 4–6 or more months with maintenance treatments subsequently as needed.
